Update

So just a little update - I'm officially a graduate! I popped back down to Plymouth for a few days on Thursday for the ceremony and to celebrate with my fellow illustrator friends. The ceremony was really lovely and it was amazing to see everyone again. So proud of everyone and I miss them lots.

In other news, two weeks ago I signed the contract for my first children's picture book with an American publishers. So exciting! I feel so lucky and grateful for the opportunity and still can't quite believe it's real. It will primarily be an e-Book for iPad's, Kindles etc, but printed copies will also be available to buy online and should hopefully be released Autumn/Fall next year. I can't give too much away yet, but I'll keep you updated on the release date once it's finished. It's a great story by M. R. Nelson and I'm really excited to get cracking on the artwork!

Design Juices

I've been super busy with assessments and degree show stuff recently, I'll be posting pictures of my show shortly. If you're in Plymouth from the 15th - 26th June go check it out in Roland Levinsky, first floor. But today I wanted to share an awesome website Design Juices, where some of my work was featured last week thanks to Jared Thompson, founder of Design Juices. Design Juices is 'an online creative blog which showcases the best inspirational designers, artists, photographers & more'. Have a look at the feature of my work here. Thanks Jared!

Little Taster

Here's a little something I'm working on that the moment, for a children's recipe project. It's only a tiny bit of an illustration, she will have something in her hands. Ooooh I wonder what?

Oh the mystery.

Stuart Road Primary School Library Mural

At the start of January, 4 course friends and I started a project to design and paint a mural for Stuart Road Primary School, Plymouth, and we finally finished last week! The mural is a combination of our interpretations of famous children's book characters, as well some children's drawings from a competition that we held and judged. A child from each class won the opportunity to have their work featured in the mural (don't worry, the children didn't climb ladders and scaffolding, we projected the drawings onto the walls).

Hopefully we'll be getting some more professional photos taken once the library is completely finished.

Thanks Stuart Road Primary School, it was a pleasure.
